Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!

Here are a few things we've been doing with bugs!

Bug Sensory Table
Ok... so I might have gone a little overboard with the bug table.  But I have so much stuff in the basement from my teaching years...why should it just sit there?  We have plastic bugs, stuffed bugs, magnifying glasses, a plastic bug box, nets (we used the ones from our Elefun game), pictures of bugs, and books about bugs.

When the weather is nice, we take the Bug Sensory Table outside and fill it with water.  On this day, I turned the water a nice aqua color for the bugs to swim in!  We also added real rocks from the yard for the bugs to crawl on!  We loved scooping the bugs out of the water with our nets!

Bug Hunt!
We took our large butterfly nets outside in the backyard to try and catch some bugs!  Our goal was to find some bugs and put them in our bug box.  We were unsuccessful but we still had fun!  I was actually really surprised at how much the girls enjoyed this activity!
